The Story of Hlatini

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Hlatini started with Graham & Maja's passion for nature, to share the knowledge and the privilege to be living on this beautiful planet earth, and to reconnect ourselves with the deep roots we all have inside us.

Hlatini-Africa is committed to protect our planet and inspire people to do the same.

Hlatini means " in the bush" in zulu -  and perfectly describes our passion for the natural world and all its inhabitants

In the 90's

Graham is a young guide working at the world renowned Londolozi Lodge, and is given the task to raise two orphaned leopard cubs - which will turn out to be one of his biggest love story of his life. His story has been published in his book "My life with Leopards"
He is also a founding member of EcoTraining - the field guiding school of South Africa
Meanwhile, Maja is studying veterinary medicine.

2000-2010

While working in prestigious lodges and as field guide Instructor, Graham is observing and documenting the social interaction of a troop of baboons. He will be living with them for about 12 years, being able to approach them and be accepted by them until the troop finally separated. His second book about this incredible time spend with them is about to be published.
Meanwhile, Maja is working in her first job, as a veterinarian in Namibia.
